Sony Pictures Classics has acquired the North American and China distribution rights for 'Wicked Little Letters', a mystery comedy starring Olivia Colman and Jessie Buckley, set to debut in theaters in 2024.
The film, directed by Thea Sharrock and based on true events, is set in the 1920s English seaside town and follows a story of a scandal revolving around anonymous vulgar letters, creating a national uproar.
The cast of the film includes other renowned actors like Timothy Spall, Joanna Scanlan, and Anjana Vasan, who have previously worked with Sony Pictures Classics.
The film, financed by StudioCanal and Film4, was produced by Blueprint Pictures, South of The River Pictures, and Jo Wallett, with Jonny Sweet as both the screenplay writer and executive producer.
