Sony Open 2024: PGA Tour Continues in Hawaii

Favorites Chris Kirk and Brian Harman Among 144 Players Competing

The Sony Open, the second PGA Tour event of 2024, is taking place at Waialae Country Club in Honolulu, Hawaii, with 144 players participating, including 37 golfers from last week’s Sentry Tournament of Champions.
Chris Kirk, last week’s TOC winner, and 2023 British Open champion Brian Harman are among the favorites to win the Sony Open, with odds of +2500 or less.
16 new PGA Tour rookies are participating in the Sony Open, although it's noted that 8 of the last 10 Sony Open winners played the week prior in Hawaii.
Recent winners of the Sony Open include Si Woo Kim (2023), Hideki Matsuyama (2022), Kevin Na (2021), Cameron Smith (2020), and Matt Kuchar (2019), indicating a trend towards shorter hitters who also had a solid week of putting.
Three of the top favorites to win, Tyrrell Hatton, Ludvig Aberg and Matt Fitzpatrick, have never played in this event at Waialae Country Club.
