Overview
- Sony unveiled the Prism Collection on Oct. 28, 2026, confirming three translucent colorways and firm preorder and ship dates for the DualSense controllers and matching PS5 covers.
- The DualSense controllers will retail for $84.99 in the U.S. and the console covers for $74.99, with preorders opening Nov. 10 and shipments beginning Feb. 4, 2027.
- Designers said the high-gloss translucent shells expose some internal components while a metallic center panel preserves PlayStation’s industrial look and modern durability.
- Console covers will be sold primarily through PlayStation Direct in markets where Sony sells direct and appear in limited quantities at select retailers elsewhere, while controllers will be sold globally.
- The Prism rollout follows a recent industry trend for nostalgic translucent hardware and offers players a purely cosmetic personalization option rather than any technical upgrade to PS5 hardware.
