Sony Launches Cloud Streaming on PlayStation Portal for Owned PS5 Games

Premium-tier subscribers can now play supported titles from the cloud without a connected PS5.

Overview

  • The feature goes live November 5 at 6 p.m. PT/9 p.m. ET after a year-long beta in 30 countries and is available in supported regions.
  • Sony’s published compatibility lists cover roughly 2,700–2,800 PlayStation Store titles from players’ libraries plus hundreds from the Game Catalog, Classics, and select free-to-play games.
  • Cloud Streaming requires a PlayStation Plus Premium membership, whereas Remote Play still works without a subscription but needs a paired PS5.
  • A redesigned home screen introduces three tabs — Remote Play, Cloud Streaming, and Search — to clearly separate modes and help find supported games.
  • New tools include 3D audio support, a passcode lock, a network status screen, in-game purchases during cloud streams, added accessibility options, and the ability to receive and join game invites.
