Overview
- Sony released system update 26.06-14.00.00 on September 16, 2026, which automatically turns on Enhanced PSSR Image Quality as the default on PS5 Pro consoles after installation.
- Enhanced PSSR is Sony’s improved upscaling and image-quality option and it can be applied to games that supported the previous PSSR so those titles may appear sharper without per-game updates.
- The feature is exclusive to PS5 Pro and owners who prefer the prior look can disable it at Settings > Screen and Video > Video Output > Enhance PSSR Image Quality.
- The update also adds a voice-chat speaker indicator and a Community Activity widget in the Welcome Hub that shows Trending Now multiplayer modes and a Top 10 list of the most-played games in your region to aid discovery.
- In certain countries Sony changed the Turn Off Bluetooth option so consoles no longer enter Rest Mode and HDMI Device Link stops working for esports controller management, and the patch includes general performance and stability fixes with actual visual gains varying by game.
