The price hike follows the announcement of Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, set to release on October 31 for $49.99.
Sony's move aims to stop players from buying the cheaper original game and upgrading to the remaster for $10.
Existing owners of the original game on PS4 or PC can still upgrade to the remastered version for $10.
The remastered version features enhanced visuals, re-recorded dialogue, and additional PS5-specific features.
