Sonora Security Forces Seize 481.5 Kilograms of Meth in Homicide-Linked Raid in San Luis Río Colorado

Authorities say the Nov. 6 killing of Miguel Ángel “N” prompted the search, with the case still active.

  • The court-authorized search was carried out on Nov. 7 from 5:06 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at a residence on Reforma Agraria Avenue between 37th and 38th streets in the Altar neighborhood.
  • Investigators secured 44 bundles weighing about 445.9 kilograms and 58 additional bags totaling 36.6 kilograms of methamphetamine, for an approximate total of 481.5 kilograms.
  • The multi-agency operation included AMIC, SEDENA, SEMAR, the National Guard, the Sonora state police and the San Luis Río Colorado municipal police under FGJES coordination.
  • A gray 2005 Mazda 6 with affiliation plates and a spent 9mm cartridge were collected as evidence, with a criminalist supervising chain-of-custody procedures and the property sealed by the prosecutor’s office.
