Son of Kinahan Crime Boss Admits Role in Gun Plot

Thomas Kavanagh, already serving a sentence for drug trafficking, ran the conspiracy from prison with the help of his son, brother-in-law Liam Byrne, and associate Shaun Kent.
The National Crime Agency uncovered the plot through messages intercepted on the encrypted EncroChat service, which was cracked by French authorities.
Jack Kavanagh is set to be sentenced on December 4, following his extradition from Spain where he was arrested while traveling from Dubai to Turkey.
