Overview

  • Son opened his LAFC account with a curling free kick from about 25 yards in the sixth minute after Denis Bouanga was fouled by Cappis.
  • FC Dallas leveled in the 13th minute through Logan Farrington, who finished from a Patrickson Delgado setup.
  • It was Son’s third MLS appearance and second start since joining LAFC, and he said he was really disappointed not to secure three points.
  • LAFC controlled large stretches and outshot Dallas but could not find a winner as goalkeeper Michael Collodi made four saves.
  • Son arrived this month from Tottenham in a reported MLS-record transfer of around $26 million and is slated for his LAFC home debut on Aug. 31 against San Diego FC.
