Somalia President's Son to Return to Turkey for Trial Over Fatal Crash

Somalia's President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud's son, Mohammed Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, is set to return to Turkey to face trial over a fatal highway crash in Istanbul that resulted in the death of a motorcycle courier.
The Turkish authorities had issued an arrest warrant for Mohammed and barred him from traveling abroad, but reports suggested he had already left the country by the time the warrant was issued.
President Mohamud has stated that his son did not flee Turkey and has advised him to return and present himself to court.
Turkey's Justice Minister Yilmaz Tunc has confirmed that talks have been held with Somali judicial authorities and expects the trial to commence soon.
