Overview
- Sgt. Greville Clarke, 32, was found unresponsive in his cell Friday and was pronounced dead after resuscitation attempts, officials said.

- Clarke was convicted in April of 29 offenses for a 2021–2022 spree targeting women in Fort Hood barracks, including rape, kidnapping and attempted premeditated murder.
- A military judge sentenced him to life in prison, described in reports as 112 years without parole, along with forfeiture of pay, a dishonorable discharge and reduction to private.
- He did not attend his court-martial and had previously been placed under constant surveillance at Bell County Jail because of concerns he might harm himself.
