Solana Mainnet Reaches 107K TPS in Stress Test, User-Facing Throughput Nears 1,000 TPS

Validator votes combined with noop transactions inflate peak TPS far beyond the roughly 1,000 TPS of genuine user activity.

Overview

  • Validator “Cavey Cool” processed a mainnet block with 43,016 successful transactions and 50 failures to hit a peak of 107,540 TPS under a noop-driven stress load.
  • On-chain trackers show average network throughput around 3,500 TPS—two-thirds of which come from validator vote traffic—and effective application capacity at about 1,000 TPS.
  • Helius CEO Mert Mumtaz noted that while noop calls use minimal execution compute units, they still impose non-execution overhead like signature verification and data loading.
  • Jump Crypto’s Firedancer client has demonstrated testnet benchmarks above 1.2 million TPS but awaits mainnet deployment and protocol upgrades such as Alpenglow to boost sustained capacity.
  • Solana’s native token has traded near $180 without a sustained rally as ecosystem activity remains driven by validator votes and memecoin platforms like Pumpfun.
