Social Security Pays Nov. 26 for Birthdates 21–31 as SSI Schedules Two December Deposits

Holiday timing produces an extra late-December SSI deposit under the SSA’s calendar, with a COLA increase taking effect at year’s end.

Overview

  • Retirees born from the 21st through the 31st are set to receive their November Social Security payment on Wednesday, Nov. 26, per the SSA schedule.
  • Monthly Social Security benefits follow the Wednesday rotation by birthdate: 1–10 on the second Wednesday, 11–20 on the third, and 21–31 on the fourth.
  • SSI will pay on Dec. 1 for December and again on Dec. 31 for January 2026, with the next SSI payment due Jan. 30, 2026 for February.
  • A 2.8% cost-of-living adjustment begins for SSI with the Dec. 31 deposit and for Social Security in January 2026, with reporting citing an average increase of about $56 per month.
  • Paper checks have been discontinued following a presidential executive order, so benefits are delivered by direct deposit or the Direct Express card.
