- SSI recipients receive the regular July payment on Wednesday, July 1 and will also get the August payment on Friday, July 31 because August 1 is a weekend.
- Most Social Security retirement, disability and survivor (RSDI) beneficiaries are paid on set Wednesdays by birth date with July paydays on July 8 for birthdays 1–10, July 15 for birthdays 11–20, and July 22 for birthdays 21–31.
- People who began receiving Social Security before May 1997 are paid on the first Thursday of the month, which is Thursday, July 2 for July 2026.
- The SSA ended routine paper checks on Sept. 30, 2025 and now delivers most benefits electronically; recipients should check their bank accounts first and then contact the SSA to report and replace late, missing, or stolen payments.
- The federal maximum SSI benefit for 2026 remains $994 for an individual and $1,491 for a couple and actual payments may be lower when other income or state supplements apply.
