Overview
- The 49th Mostra runs October 16–30 in São Paulo, presenting 373 films from 80 countries across 52 cinemas and cultural spaces.
- Opening night will pair Charlie Kaufman’s short “Como Fotografar Um Fantasma” with Oliver Laxe’s “Sirât,” winner of the Cannes Jury Prize.
- Noah Baumbach’s “Jay Kelly” will close the festival with a screening immediately following the awards ceremony on October 30.
- The lineup features Jafar Panahi’s Palme d’Or winner “Foi Apenas Um Acidente,” with the director scheduled for a public conversation, as well as Brazil’s Oscar submission “O Agente Secreto.”
- Honors include the Prêmio Humanidade for Euzhan Palcy and the Prêmio Leon Cakoff for Mauricio de Sousa, with free outdoor screenings set for October 15–17 at the Museu da Língua Portuguesa and Museu Soberano.
