• Police said Friday they detained three suspects in the assault that preceded Pacheco’s death, with the case handled by the 4th Precinct in Consolação.
• Street cameras captured a man striking Pacheco in the head as a woman looked on, after which he fell to the ground and the assailants fled with his belongings.
• Pacheco was found unconscious on Rua Itambé, taken by SAMU to the Santa Casa and died shortly after, having been reported missing earlier by family.
• He was without identification and was confirmed as the victim only after digital exams at the IML, following roughly 36 hours in which his whereabouts were unknown.
• The OAB-SP declared three days of mourning for Pacheco, a prominent criminal lawyer who defended José Genoino in the Mensalão case and helped found the Prerrogativas and the IDDD.
