Monica Laso, a snowboarder, was trapped in a ski lift gondola at Heavenly Ski Resort in Lake Tahoe, California, for 15 hours in freezing temperatures.
Laso had no phone with her and was unable to call for help. She tried to attract attention by screaming until she lost her voice.
Laso's friends reported her missing to the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office, but she was not discovered until the gondola started up again the next morning.
Despite the ordeal, Laso declined to be hospitalized. She was assessed by the South Lake Tahoe Fire and Rescue and released.
Heavenly Mountain Resort is investigating the incident with 'the utmost seriousness.'
