- The National Weather Service updated the warning at 4:04 p.m., in effect until 4:30 p.m. for Erie, Genesee, Monroe, Orleans and Wyoming counties.
- At 4:03 p.m., the squall was tracked from near Hilton toward West Seneca moving east at about 35 mph.
- Affected stretches include Interstate 90 between exits 48–48A and 52–57, with rapid deterioration expected on highways.
- Listed communities at risk include Buffalo, Cheektowaga, West Seneca, Clarence, Lackawanna, Batavia, Depew, Lancaster, Hamburg and Brockport.
- Hazards include brief heavy snow, blowing snow and wind gusts up to 20 mph that can drop visibility below one-quarter mile, and officials urge drivers to delay travel or slow down with headlights on and avoid abrupt braking.
