SNCF Announces 1.5% Average Increase in Train Ticket Prices for 2025

The price hike, effective January 8, aims to offset rising costs and fund investments while maintaining affordability for travelers.

Ticket prices for TGV InOui and Ouigo services will rise by an average of 1.5%, equivalent to less than €1 per ticket, starting January 8, 2025.
The increase primarily affects maximum ticket prices, which will rise by €1 to €7 depending on the route, while minimum fares remain unchanged.
Intercités train tickets will see a slightly higher average increase of 1.9%, and the Junior & Cie child travel service will cost €3 more per ticket on average.
The SNCF cites rising operational costs, including a 3% increase in infrastructure fees and investments in new trains and maintenance, as reasons for the price adjustments.
Despite the hike, half of TGV tickets will still be priced under €47, and discounts for subscription holders and low-cost Ouigo fares remain unaffected.
