Snapseed 4.2 Rolls Out With LUT Import, Motion Blur and Pro Color Grading
The staged update gives mobile photographers importable LUTs, depth-aware lens blur, multi-wheel color wheels, community-shared edit recipes, landscape support for iOS devices.
Overview
- Snapseed began a gradual rollout of version 4.2, with the company’s changelog confirming the new toolset will reach Android and iOS devices over the coming days.
- Users can now import presets and LUT files in common formats (.cube, .xmp, .3dl, .png, and .snapseed) through Manage Looks so they can reuse styles made in apps like Lightroom.
- A new Motion Blur tool creates panning effects or overall streaking, and a Depth-based Lens Blur option uses scene depth with a Bokeh Boost toggle to soften backgrounds and enhance highlights.
- Full multi-wheel Color Grading is rolling out to Android alongside LUT integration, giving finer control over shadows, midtones and highlights with the same LUTs users import.
- A curated Community Looks section lets photographers browse, try and inspect full edit recipes from other users, and iPhone and iPad users gain landscape orientation to improve editing ergonomics.
