Smuggled Cat Saved from Euthanasia by Cruise Ship Crew

After being discovered on a Royal Caribbean ship, the cat, Ovie, was adopted by a crew member and now lives in Miami.

Ovie, a cat, was smuggled onto a Royal Caribbean cruise ship by a passenger, and was discovered during a routine inspection.
Due to customs rules, Ovie was not allowed off the ship in Australia or New Zealand and was slated for euthanasia.
Guest service crew members intervened to ensure Ovie's safety and were eventually able to get the cat back to the US.
Ovie has since been adopted by one of the ship's guest service members and is now living in Miami.
Royal Caribbean Cruises has not confirmed how the cat was able to bypass security measures.
