Overview
- The Servicio Meteorológico Nacional issued multiple orange and yellow alerts on Saturday covering Misiones, Corrientes, Formosa and Chaco at orange level and central provinces at yellow level for heavy rain, hail, frequent lightning and very strong gusts.
- Orange-alert areas may see 50–90 mm of rain in short periods with gusts that could exceed 100 km/h and hail that can damage vehicles and roofs.
- The AMBA and central Buenos Aires saw storms overnight and high morning probabilities for strong storms, with forecasts indicating a general improvement across much of the Pampas by October 4 though localized fog and residual impacts are possible.
- The SMN also warned of Zonda winds and strong westerly gusts in Andean precordillera zones plus cordilleran snow with expected accumulations of 10–30 cm, creating reduced visibility and higher fire risk in dry areas.
- Local authorities such as the Municipality of La Plata issued targeted notices and the SMN advised practical safety steps including avoiding travel, securing loose objects, clearing drains and disconnecting appliances if water enters buildings to reduce flood and outage harm.
