Smashing Pumpkins Flooded with Over 10,000 Guitarist Applications

The band scrambles to fill the position ahead of their European tour in June following Jeff Schroeder's departure.

Smashing Pumpkins, the renowned rock band, has received over 10,000 applications for their open guitarist position following an announcement earlier this month.
The band is currently in recruitment mode after guitarist Jeff Schroeder, who played with the band from their 2006 reunion through last year, decided to leave to explore a different path.
Eight people are working full-time to review each application.
The band is set to embark on a European tour with Weezer in June and will return to North America for their stadium tour with Green Day, Rancid, and the Linda Lindas on July 29.
The application process is open to anyone interested, with applicants asked to submit a resume and related materials to [email protected].
