Overview
- A group used a car to smash into an Anaheim Hills jewelry store as 8 to 10 masked people wielded trash cans, crowbars and hammers, the owner said.
- Anaheim police began pursuing two vehicles tied to the robbery at about 2:38 p.m.
- The first crash at S. Lemon Street and E. Orangethorpe Avenue produced minor to moderate injuries as at least four suspects ran from the scene.
- A second crash around 2:43 p.m. at N. Euclid Street and W. Malvern Avenue involved multiple vehicles, and those suspects also fled on foot.
- Officers recovered trays of stolen jewelry from a crashed car, and by about 9:30 p.m. police had five suspects in custody while searching for at least three others.
