• Smart Europe CEO Dirk Adelmann confirmed the four-door #4 will follow the two-seat #2 and act as the successor to the discontinued ForFour.

• Adelmann said the Fortwo successor project began in 2019 and arrived three years later than planned due to cost and partner challenges.
