Small Rural Texas High School Postpones Graduation After Majority of Seniors Fail to Meet Requirements

Graduation at Marlin High School in Texas was postponed because the majority of seniors did not meet grade and attendance requirements.
The school conducted audits of student files and found many deficiencies, leading to the postponement.
After students completed make-up work and got proper forms signed, 17 out of 33 students became eligible to graduate.
The school has committed to providing students resources and support.
The high school has a high percentage of economically disadvantaged students.
