Small Plane Crashes on Colorado Interstate, Injuring Two

The twin-engine aircraft hit a highway sign near Larkspur, causing it to veer into a field.

The crash occurred around 7:45 a.m. near Spruce Mountain Road and Sky View Lane.
Both occupants exited the plane before emergency personnel arrived and were hospitalized with serious injuries.
Emergency responders had to cross waist-deep water to reach the crash site.
Two lanes of northbound I-25 were closed due to the crash and a small fuel leak.
The FAA and NTSB are investigating the incident.
