Overview
- Breitvard County Fire Rescue said the aircraft went down just before 6 p.m. near mile marker 201 on the southbound side of I-95, south of State Road 520 in Cocoa.
- The Florida Highway Patrol identified the plane as a Beechcraft 55 carrying two 27-year-old men, both of whom were not injured.
- FHP said the plane struck a 2023 Toyota Camry during the emergency landing, and the 57-year-old driver was taken to Viera Hospital with minor injuries.
- Initial closures included the southbound inside and center lanes and the northbound inside lane, with the roadway cleared shortly before 9 p.m., according to officials.
- The cause of the emergency landing was not immediately known, and FHP said the FAA will investigate.
