Small Alaska Cruise Ship Evacuated After Engine Room Fire

A fire broke out in the engine room of the Wilderness Discoverer cruise ship in Alaska's Glacier Bay National Park, prompting the evacuation of dozens of passengers and crew.
All 67 passengers and crew onboard were evacuated without injury, transported to another cruise ship in the area.
The fire was contained to the engine room and extinguished, though the cause remains under investigation.
The cruise ship will be towed to Ketchikan, and affected passengers will receive full refunds and compensation for disrupted travel plans from UnCruise Adventures.
The US Coast Guard and a Carnival cruise ship assisted in evacuating passengers from the Wilderness Discoverer.
