SM Excludes Chen, Baekhyun and Xiumin From EXO Plans as Trio’s Agency Seeks Deal to Rejoin

Courts and regulators have repeatedly rejected CBX’s claims, with INB100 saying the members have accepted SM’s conditions.

Overview

  • SM’s legal representative said CBX’s continued denial of their contracts makes it impossible for them to continue activities as EXO members.
  • SM announced an EXO fan meeting and a studio album that list only Suho, Chanyeol, D.O., Kai, Sehun and Lay, excluding Chen, Baekhyun and Xiumin.
  • INB100 stated it met SM on July 9, exchanged concrete terms on September 10, accepted all conditions after an October 2 mediation, and cleared December schedules for group work.
  • Reports say CBX has now lost six legal or administrative rounds, as courts, the KFTC and the MCST found no evidence of illegality by SM and rejected broad document requests.
  • The dispute traces to the June 18, 2023 agreement affirming contract validity and a 10% remit on personal activities, after which SM sued in June 2024 to enforce payment and prosecutors dismissed CBX’s counterclaims.
