Overview

  • Sling TV’s Day ($4.99), Weekend ($9.99) and Week ($14.99) passes are now live in the U.S., offering 24-hour, three-day or seven-day access to live and on-demand content.
  • Each pass unlocks the Sling Orange package—including ESPN, ESPN2, TNT, TBS, Disney Channel and CNN—with Sling Extras available for $1 on a Day Pass, $2 on a Weekend Pass and $3 on a Week Pass.
  • Notable omissions include CBS stations, many Fox Sports channels and local broadcast affiliates, requiring separate subscriptions for games on those networks.
  • Launched just before college and NFL football seasons, the passes target occasional sports fans and event viewers who prefer flexibility over monthly contracts.
  • Analysts applaud the consumer choice model but question how these short-term subscriptions will be counted in EchoStar/Dish’s subscriber totals and financial reporting.
