Slain Hostage Tsachi Idan Honored at Hapoel Tel Aviv Stadium Funeral

Tsachi Idan, an Israeli hostage killed in Hamas captivity, was buried after a funeral at Bloomfield Stadium, home of his beloved Hapoel Tel Aviv soccer team.
Idan was abducted during the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack, which also claimed the life of his eldest daughter, Maayan, as she tried to protect their family.
His body was returned to Israel as part of the final exchange under the current Israel-Hamas ceasefire, 510 days after his abduction.
Family members and mourners expressed grief over his death, called for the return of the 59 remaining hostages, and emphasized the need for national unity.
Idan's funeral included symbolic gestures, such as replacing the yellow ribbons for hostages with red ones in honor of his devotion to Hapoel Tel Aviv.
