• Slack is testing a redesigned Slackbot that responds to natural-language prompts from a new panel opened via an icon next to the search bar.
• The assistant can search across channels and files, compile project launch plans in Canvas, set daily priorities, and generate content in a company’s brand tone.
• It can coordinate and schedule meetings through integrations with Microsoft Outlook and Google Calendar.
• Organizations can turn the AI assistant off at the workspace level, but individual users in enabled workspaces cannot opt out.
• Slack says the system runs in AWS virtual private clouds so data stays behind customers’ firewalls and is not used to train models, and it is already live for about 70,000 Salesforce employees with a wider rollout planned this year.
