Sky to Cut 1,000 Jobs Amid Shift to Internet-Based Services

The job cuts represent about 4% of Sky's UK workforce of 27,000.
The move comes as more customers opt for Sky's internet-based products, Sky Glass and Sky Stream, which do not require specialist installation.
The job cuts are part of a larger trend in the media sector, with Channel 4 and Vodafone also announcing significant job cuts.
Despite the job cuts, Sky is still recruiting for its new film and TV studio complex at Elstree, aiming to create 2,000 new jobs in its first three years.
