Overview

• A woman called 911 Friday morning after finding a severely decomposed grouping of skeletal remains in a wooded area off Dickerson Pike behind a McDonald’s.
• Metro Nashville Homicide detectives and CSI later located a human skull roughly 100 feet from the primary remains, closer to the restaurant’s parking lot.
• Investigators have not determined whether the skull and the other remains belong to the same individual.
• No weapons were found at the site, and authorities have not identified the victim or established how long the remains were there.
• MNPD spokesperson Brooke Reese said the wooded terrain and high temperatures are making it difficult to document and process the scene.
