Overview
- Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Limited recalled 1,821 locally produced sedans and SUVs over potential metal frame cracks and incorrect parts in their seatbelt assemblies.
- The campaign covers 860 Skoda Kylaq, Kushaq and Slavia units along with 961 Volkswagen Virtus and Taigun vehicles built between December 2021 and May 2025.
- Defects involve possible cracks in the rear seatbelt’s metal base frame on both sides and incorrect parts fitted in front and rear belt systems.
- This is the second recall for seatbelt issues by the company this year following an April campaign that affected more than 47,000 vehicles.
- Affected owners will receive free inspections and repairs at authorised service centers after verifying their vehicle identification numbers on official sites.
