Skoda Auto India Posts Record H1 Sales and Marks 500,000th Locally Built Car

India-made parts for models like the Kushaq and Slavia are now being assembled in Vietnam following Skoda’s 500,000th locally built vehicle.

  • Skoda Auto India sold 36,194 units in the first half of 2025, a 134% increase that surpasses its previous H1 record of 28,899 units.
  • The Kylaq sub-4-meter SUV drove market share gains across Tier 1, 2 and 3 cities, lifting Skoda into the seventh spot among India’s best-selling carmakers.
  • On July 4, Skoda Auto Volkswagen India celebrated the rollout of its 500,000th vehicle, a Kylaq built at its Pune and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar plants.
  • Approximately 70% of those half-million cars rolled off the Pune assembly lines, with the balance produced in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar.
  • India-manufactured components for the Kushaq and Slavia have begun arriving at a Vietnamese plant for local assembly and export growth.
