Overview
- In early November LAPD Robbery Homicide detectives arrested Skipp Townsend and four others and submitted the investigation to the Los Angeles County district attorney for charging review.
- Townsend is being held on $2 million bail while prosecutors decide whether to file charges and he has not been formally charged.
- Police executed search warrants at 2nd Call offices and law enforcement sources say computers and other materials were seized as part of the probe.
- The arrests grew out of the Aug. 6, 2026 fatal shooting of 2nd Call worker Reginald Foreman, a killing investigators have described as gang-related.
- Researchers, activists and community leaders have expressed shock and demanded that authorities disclose the evidence because Townsend is a longtime intervention leader who runs a city-contracted program.
