SK hynix Sets Records in Q3, Sells Out 2026 Output as HBM4 Shipments Begin

AI buildouts are driving a shift to premium memory that pushed the chipmaker to lock in next year’s orders.

Overview

  • Revenue rose to about 24.44–24.45 trillion won and operating profit reached roughly 11.38–11.4 trillion won for July–September, both all-time highs.
  • SK hynix said HBM4 completed development and entered mass production, with initial shipments slated for the fourth quarter and broader sales expansion planned for 2026.
  • The company reported it has secured full customer demand for all DRAM and NAND products through 2026 and completed next-year HBM supply agreements with key clients.
  • To meet demand, SK hynix accelerated the ramp at its new M15X fab in Cheongju and signaled higher investment next year, while forecasting DRAM shipment growth of more than 20% in 2026.
  • Rising DRAM and NAND prices and robust sales of high-value products such as HBM3E and server DDR5 underpinned results, as competition from Samsung and Micron intensifies and market share gaps narrow.
