S.J. Sharkie Earns Mascot Hall of Fame Induction

The Sharks mascot’s enshrinement recognizes his decades of on-ice appearances, community outreach, charitable service.

Overview

  • The Mascot Hall of Fame Executive Committee announced on June 17 that S.J. Sharkie would join the Class of 2025 as one of five new inductees.
  • He becomes the third NHL mascot in the Hall, joining Youppi! of the Montreal Canadiens and Tommy Hawk of the Chicago Blackhawks.
  • Since debuting in January 1992, Sharkie has appeared at every home game at the SAP Center and created memorable moments such as getting stuck in the rafters in 1999.
  • He averages more than 450 public appearances each year and leads community programs including Reading Is Cool, Stick to Fitness and Anti-Bully Programming.
  • Ceremony details are pending and Sharkie marked the honor with an appearance on Good Morning America for National Mascot Day.
