Overview

• Emergency services responded shortly after 11am Sunday to a crash at King Rd and Penfield Rd in Virginia, in Adelaide’s north.
• The critically injured child was a passenger in the van and was taken to hospital.
• The van’s driver, a 42-year-old Murray Bridge woman, and two children aged 11 and 10 sustained minor injuries, and three other children were also hurt.
• The ute’s occupants, a 37-year-old Virginia man and a four-year-old girl, were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
• South Australia Police’s Major Crash Unit is investigating, motorists were advised to avoid the area, and witnesses are urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
