Overview
- The Haval SUV was stolen during an aggravated burglary at a Doreen home on Tuesday morning.
- Victoria Police Air Wing tracked the vehicle across northern suburbs and deployed stop sticks before it rolled down an embankment on O’Herns Road at about 1:30 am Wednesday.
- Five boys aged 16 and 17 and a 19-year-old woman were taken to hospital with serious injuries and remain under police guard.
- The crash closed the Hume Freeway entry and exit ramps at O’Herns Road and westbound lanes on O’Herns Road, causing traffic delays of up to an hour.
- All freeway ramps have since reopened, but investigators are appealing for witnesses and any CCTV or dashcam footage as inquiries remain ongoing.
