Overview

• Manipur police reported six arrests across Imphal West, Imphal East and Bishnupur, including three PLA cadres, a woman from NRFM and two KCP (Noyon) members.
• Officers identified the detainees as Nongmaithem Gyaneshwor Singh, Laishram Jiten Singh and Moirangthem Chaobi Singh of PLA; Khaidem Sunila Devi of NRFM; and Md Mujibur Rahaman and Sorenshangbam Bungcha of KCP (Noyon).
• A .32 pistol with a magazine was seized from the two KCP (Noyon) cadres, and one of the PLA arrestees was previously accused of mobilising mobs against security forces, police said.
• Earlier actions in the probe included the arrests of two active PLA operatives, one in Manipur and one in Guwahati, and the capture of a bailed‑out PLA cadre whose disclosure led to a Loktak Lake weapons cache recovery.
• Security forces have expanded highway protection with 114 checkpoints, armed escorts for essential convoys on NH‑37 and broader search and drone surveillance, as a separate tripartite SoO pact with KNO and UPF took effect for one year.
