Six Injured as Truck Hits Pedestrians and Crashes into Building in Boston’s Chinatown

A Penske rental truck struck pedestrians and crashed into a building at Harrison Avenue and Kneeland Street in Boston’s Chinatown around 12:48 p.m. on April 1, 2025.
Six people were injured, including two critically, with four transported to local hospitals and two treated at the scene.
The truck, rented by a commercial trucking company, flipped on its side and became wedged between a pole and a building, causing significant damage.
The driver, who was trapped in the cab, was extricated by firefighters using specialized tools.
Authorities believe the crash was a tragic accident with no evidence of deliberate intent, and nearby streets remain closed as investigations continue.
