Overview
- The attack occurred at about 5:30 pm on June 24 at the Highbridge Retail Park McDonald’s in Waltham Abbey, Essex.
- Four suspects described as white men sprayed an unknown liquid at staff and customers, causing stinging eyes and skin.
- Emergency services deployed three ambulances, three hazardous area response vehicles, a paramedic car and a rapid response unit, and six victims were taken to hospitals in Harlow and north London.
- Chief Inspector Terry Fisher said no one suffered serious injuries and investigators are examining whether the assault was an attempted robbery.
