Six Hospitalized After Chemical Attack at Waltham Abbey McDonald’s

Essex Police have launched tests to identify the substance used in the assault.

  • Four suspects described as white men sprayed an unknown liquid at staff and customers, causing stinging eyes and skin.
  • Emergency services deployed three ambulances, three hazardous area response vehicles, a paramedic car and a rapid response unit, and six victims were taken to hospitals in Harlow and north London.
  • Chief Inspector Terry Fisher said no one suffered serious injuries and investigators are examining whether the assault was an attempted robbery.
