Overview

  • The requirement applies to all visitors 15 and under at Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor Chicago, regardless of ticket type or membership status.
  • Adult chaperones must be at least 21 years old, carry a government-issued ID showing their birth date, remain on site and be reachable by phone throughout the visit.
  • One chaperone may supervise up to ten minors per day and parks reserve the right to eject unaccompanied youths during enforcement hours.
  • The policy is in effect all day July 17–20 and then daily from 5 p.m. until closing for the rest of the season, with the option to activate earlier if needed.
  • The move follows a July 7 non-injurious shooting in the park’s parking lot and mirrors similar chainwide measures to curb unruly behavior during peak summer attendance.
