Six ex-Mississippi officers plead guilty to torturing two Black men in racist assault

Six white former Mississippi law enforcement officers pleaded guilty to federal charges related to the racist assault and torture of two Black men during a home raid.
The officers, known as "The Goon Squad," entered the home without a warrant, beat and tased the victims, hurled racial slurs, and sexually assaulted them.
One officer shot a victim in the mouth in a mock execution, causing severe injuries.
Instead of providing medical attention, the officers conspired to cover up their actions by planting evidence and obstructing justice.
The victims filed a federal civil rights lawsuit seeking $400 million in damages for the abuse.
