- HM Coastguard coordinated the Sunday evening response at around 8:30pm after a public alert to children in difficulty off the slipway.
- Port Talbot Coastguard brought three children ashore with a throw line and rescue officers entered the water to save the remaining three.
- Port Talbot RNLI Lifeboat, Porthcawl Coastguard, Welsh Ambulance Service and South Wales Police were on scene in a multi‑agency operation.
- Welsh Ambulance sent three crews; two children were transported to hospital while four others made their own way for assessment.
- Port Talbot Coastguard described the call‑out as a mass‑casualty water rescue and noted it was their third water rescue this year, bringing lives saved to nine.
