- Deputies say four masked suspects used hammers to smash display cases at a Palm Desert store on Aug. 9, stealing more than $87,000 in jewelry.
- Investigators determined the Palm Desert robbery was tied to at least 12 similar incidents across Los Angeles, Orange and Riverside counties.
- Coordinated operations this month led to arrests on Sept. 11, 16, 18 and 23, and one suspect was already in federal custody on an unrelated case.
- All six men were booked into the John Benoit Detention Center on suspicion of robbery, vandalism during a felony, grand theft, burglary, committing a theft with prior convictions and conspiracy.
- Authorities say two suspects were also linked to other commercial burglaries in Los Angeles County, and the investigation remains active with tips requested at the Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station at (760) 836-1600.
