- Sitharaman inaugurated SPMCIL’s new corporate office in New Delhi and lauded its performance, expressing confidence it will attain Navratna status.
- Currently a Schedule ‘A’ Miniratna Category-I CPSE, SPMCIL fully repaid its restructuring loan by 2016-17 and paid Rs534 crore in dividends in 2022-23 followed by Rs364 crore in 2023-24.
- During 2024-25, the firm produced over 1,200 crore banknotes, 150 crore circulation coins, 1.5 crore passport booklets and 700 crore excise adhesive labels for government services.
- SPMCIL refined about 3.4 metric tonnes of customs-seized gold for the Reserve Bank of India and processed precious metals from institutions including Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams and the Vaishno Devi Shrine Board.
- Since independence, the corporation has issued 210 commemorative coins—105 in the last decade—honouring themes from India’s G20 presidency to endangered species.
